TRANSMISSIONS XVI - History of Ideas
experimental music festival
organized by Bronson
Teatro Rasi, Ravenna
The group exhibition DUSTS, curated by Eleonora Savorelli and organized by marte in collaboration with Bronson Produzioni, brings together works by artists Silvia Bigi and Giorgia Severi and the CaCO3 collective. It will be on view at the Ridotto of Teatro Rasi in conjunction with TRANSMISSIONS festival, October 24-26, 2024.
What does dust hide?
DUSTS wishes to offer an alternative interpretation of the work of the artists and the collective, delving into the concept of dust in the declinations of their respective artistic practices.
An aggregate of minuscule fragments of substances in the environment that is deposited, created by aggregating matter, defining perimeters. Plant debris, sands, minerals, organic fibers and textiles.
Bigi pulverizes images, extracting pigments from photographic surfaces.
Severi reflects on the ashes that record the memory of a fire and become the starting point for a collective action of caring for the environment.
The CaCO3 collective experiments with mosaic writing through various techniques including frottage, permeating the space of the work, which is constantly evolving.
