COSÍ PER CASO is the first open studio event that brings together three cultural realities – marte, Record and Studio73 – located in Via Sant’Alberto at numbers 19, 29A and 73 respectively.

On Friday 29 November, from 6pm to 11pm, the three spaces will welcome the public to share their research through archival material and more.

The event lays the foundations for a moment of confrontation and exchange between the visual arts, design, architecture, video and music. marte, Record and Studio73 aim to create a complementary collaboration between the various teams of professionals, bringing new contributions and visions, drawing the new profiles of a lively and constantly evolving cultural landscape.

The title of the event explains the genesis of the project. The collaboration between the three realities was born by chance. Così per caso’ is a 2004 film directed by Cristiano Ceriello: it is the thirty-fifth work made according to the rules of Dogma 95, a cinematographic movement founded in 1995 by Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg with the publication of a programmatic manifesto. marte, Record and Studio73 similarly define guidelines to be followed, while maintaining their own areas of competence.

marte is a platform for collaboration between professionals in the visual arts for the development of cultural, exhibition and research projects related to the mosaic aesthetic. The aim of the association is to promote a critical reflection on artistic practices that take mosaic as a point of reference, departure or arrival. Founded in 2011, it opened its first office a few months ago. Being Italian is the title of the intervention designed by marte for COSÍ PER CASO.

Record is a multidisciplinary space for architecture, graphic design and communication. Located in the premises of the historic musical instrument shop ‘Spalazzi’, the studio is involved in design in the public and private spheres alongside its research activities. The open space is home to Tundra, an architecture studio founded by Marcello Cova and Lorenzo Melandri; eee, a graphic design studio founded by Emilio Macchia and Erica Preli; Chiara più Chiara, founded by Chiara Parollo and Chiara Brandi, communication consultants; and engineer Marco Chiarini. Kill your darlings is the title of the contribution conceived by Record for COSÍ PER CASO.

Studio73, the historical headquarters of Norma aps and the former Lazzaretto in Ravenna, is a facility comprising rehearsal rooms, a recording studio and a multi-purpose hall. Norma has been involved in youth aggregation, music and musicians in the area for over twenty years, offering services and platforms where young artists find the right space and context to express themselves freely, bringing them closer to live music through multidisciplinary events. Norma brings young people closer to live music and organises multidisciplinary events aimed at youth aggregation as a fertile, responsive and sensitive ground to be cultivated and preserved. Pictures of you is the title of the contribution conceived by Studio73 for COSÍ PER CASO.
